![]() In the following image, the Ada chat window can be seen on the College's work experience app. The Ada service has been designed to respond to a broad range of questions relating to the College and life on the campus students can ask specific questions relating to their studies and subject specific enquiries about the topics covered on a selection of courses. The same holds true for numerous other student enquiries. The Ada service enables the student to ask about the visit without having to open other pages on the student site. The following video provides an update on the Ada service and it hints at some of our plans for the service during the next academic year. In this short article, I would like to provide a brief overview regarding the current status of Bolton College's Ada service across a suite of online services that are offered to its students. As these services become more capable and as our understanding of cognitive services on the campus develops we hope to embed the Ada service into a wider range of student facing services. Individuals who engage with the service can use the service to garner information and insights on multiple services and as the service matures they will be able to carry out numerous tasks and activities through the chatbot.Īs the Ada service develops, colleagues across the campus are acquiring a growing understanding and appreciation that student facing services are enhanced when they are coupled with one or more cognitive services and they add value to the overall student experience.
